On 15 April 2019, Empresa Publica Productiva Cementos de Bolivia's ( Ecebol) Oruro cement plant produced its first cement, according to schedule. Bolivia’s Lower House approves Ecebol land

The Lower House of the Bolivian Parliament has approved a bill to provide 39.8ha of land to state-run Ecebol for a future cement plant in Potosi. The site is located in Chiutara and was formerly owned by Potosi council. The contract for the 1.3Mta production facility was signed in March 2018. The project represents an investment of US$241.1m.

Bolivia-based cement producer Ecebol is finalising construction of its plant at Jeruyo, Oruro. The company expects the start production tests at the end of the month. Empresa Pública Cementos de Bolivia (Ecebol)’s plant in Caracollo, Oruro, is expected to be ready for its trial run in September, according to the country’s Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Eugenio Rojas.
