Polish monthly cement production up 3.1%

Cement production in Poland decreased by 3.1 per cent YoY to 1.22Mt in November, while sales rose by 3.6 per cent to 1.24Mt, Poland's Cement Producer Association said in a statement. Year-to-date production grew 0.6 per cent YoY to 14.65Mt. Meanwhile sales over the period rose by 1.1 per cent to 14.95Mt.

Titan's turnover improved by 18.9 per cent to EUR1029.5m in the first nine months of 2015 and EBITDA was up by 12.6 per cent to EUR165.2m, though in the third quarter EBITDA was ahead by just 3.8 per cent, reflecting the weakness in Greece. Vicat's turnover for the first nine months of the year improved by 1.9 per cent to EUR1883m, which represents an underlying decline of 5.3 per cent. Cemex announced yesterday that it has closed the sale of operations in Austria and Hungary to the Rohrdorfer Group for approximately EUR160.1m. The transaction was originally announced on 12 August 2015. In August 2015 compared with July 2015, seasonally-adjusted production in the construction sector fell by 0.2 per cent in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.2 per cent in the EU28, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. CRH's first half turnover advanced by 12.6 per cent to €9,370m and the EBITDA improved by 9.9 per cent to €555m. The trading profit increased by 11.2 per cent to €189m and after a net interest charge 8.6 per cent higher at €139m, the pre-tax profit increased by 3.3 per cent to €63m.
