Semen Indonesia has earmarked US$500m in capex next year in anticipation of an increase in infrastructure projects over the next five years, its president director has said. PT Holcim Indonesia has secured a IDR400bn (US$34.09m) loan from Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia which it plans to use for working capital, Reuters quoted the cement producer's CEO, John Ginley, as saying. Capstone Turbine Corporation has received an order from Indonesia for a Capstone C800 system to power a cement factory in Balikpapan, Indonesia. Siam Cement, Thailand’s largest industrial conglomerate and leading cement producer, is expected to report a 10.5 per cent drop in second-quarter earnings, according to KGI Securities. Indonesia accounted for the largest share of Vietnam’s exports over the first five months of this year, according to data from the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Semen Indonesia is to invest in a IDR638bn (US$54.4m) waste heat power generation facility in East Java as the company looks to reduce costs and move towards more environmentally-friendly energy sources.
