Indonesian cement sales increased by 5.6 per cent in 2013, less than half the rate of growth of 14.5 per cent the year before, due to slower demand particularly in outer Java. PT Semen Batujara plans to increase capital expenditure for this year by 87 per cent YoY to IDR750bn (US$61.58m), according to reports by the Investor Daily. Semen Indonesia expects an 11 per cent sales increase this year as the country’s leading producer enhances its distribution network to better serve expected increases in demand.
