Indonesia and Japan have reach an agreement that could see up to US$43bn invested in 45 infrastructure projects in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, by 2020. PT Semen Gresik, says that the completion of its power plant project in Pangkep, South Sulawesi, will be delayed due to bad weather and man power limitations, according to reports in the Jakarta Post. Indonesia's domestic cement sales fell 0.1 per cent in August from a year ago, data from PT Semen Gresik Tbk showed on Wednesday. August sales were 3.6Mt, the lowest since September last year, down 25.2 per cent on a monthly basis, the data said. PT Holcim Indonesia recorded a 15 per cent rise in net profit driven by increased sales. Net income rose to IDR514.4bn (US$54m) in the first six months of this year from IDR447.7m in the same period of last year. Cement sales during 1H2012 increased from 70.9Mt to 74Mt, up 4.4 per cent YoY, while sales of aggregates and ready-mix concrete fell by seven and 1.3 per cent to 75.6Mt and 22.8Mm3, respectively.
