JSW Cement has bought out the promoters of Odisha-based Shiva Cement, acquiring 37.15 per cent of the latter’s equity, the Economic Times reports. JSW Cement announced plans to expand its production capacity to 30Mta by 2020. Parth Jindal, son of the chairman of the JSW Group, has been appointed as managing director of its cement business, JSW Cement, the Hindu’s Business Line reports. He will take up his appointment in July. The Hindu reports that Mr Jindal, who has worked as an economic analyst for JSW Steel, has already taken an interest in the cement business, persuading the group to invest INR8bn (US$120m) to build a grinding unit at a new integrated steel plant.
