JSW Cement turns water provider

JSW Cement will provide piped and solar-powered water to 11 villages near to its planned grinding plant in Jajpur district, India. As part of  the company's US$13bn 'Enterprise and Social Commitment' programme the villages will be provided with water through a 7500m pipeline later this year. JSW Cement is currently building a 1.2Mta grinding plant in Jajpur district and plans to raise it to 2.4Mta in the future.

JSW Cement to look at inorganic growth

JSW Cement begins work on 1.2Mta grinding unit

India’s JSW Cement has begun construction of a 1.2Mta grinding unit at the Kalinganagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, Odisha, which will be used for the production of Portland slag cement and GGBS. Petron Engineering Construction won the INR600m (US$8.2m) contract for civil and structural work, while the State Environment Impact Assessment has provided clearance for the project. The unit is expected to be operational in September 2020.

JSW Cement has inaugurated a 6.5km railway siding to transport inbound and outbound cargo for its 2.4Mta facility in Salboni, West Bengal.
