Fauji Cement first-quarter profit up 32%

Pakistan-based cement producer Fauji Cement Company Ltd (FCCL) has announced a net profit of PKR981.951m (US$9.65m) for the quarter ended 31 March 2015, a rise of 32 per cent from PKR744m a year earlier. Revenue for the quarter under review stood at PKR4.426bn compared to sales of PKR4.3bn in the same period of last year, a company spokesperson said. For the nine-month period ended 31 March 2015, FCCL posted a net profit of PKR2.65bn.

Lucky Cement posts double-digit rise in 9M net profit, Pakistan

Lucky Cement recorded net profit for the nine months ending 31 March 2015 of PKR9.30bn (US$91.5m), up 13.7 per cent YoY. The company's gross profit increased by 7.2 per cent during the nine months as its net sales revenue improved by 5.38 per cent to PKR33.15bn against PKR31.45bn for the corresponding period of last year. Bestway Cem­­­ent Ltd, a subsidiary of Bestway Group, has taken management control of Lafarge Cement's plant located near Kallar Kahar, Pakistan. Pakistan export volumes and revenues down over first nine months

Pakistan cement exports in the first nine months of the current fiscal fell 6.75 per cent YoY to 6Mt. Export revenues, meanwhile, were down by 6.86 per cent to US$349.04m over the July 2014-March 2015 period. K-Electric (KE) and DG Cement Ltd have signed an agreement through which the power utility will provide 40MW of electricity to the cement producer's upcoming plant in Hub, Balochistan, Pakistan . Pakistan cement exports to its main international market of Afghanistan have fallen by a quarter in the first nine months of the current fiscal, industry officials said on Wednesday. Pakistan cement dispatches increased by four per cent to 25.65Mt in the first nine months of the current fiscal compared to 24.78Mt in the same period of the previous year, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Dandot Cement Co reported a loss after tax of PKR342.24m (US$3.4m) in the first half of the current Pakistan fiscal compared to a loss of PKR 380.42m in the comparative period of the year before.
