Total deliveries, which include exports, increased 1.9 per cent. Production slipped 0.2 per cent when compared with May 2015. “During the fifth month of 2016, cement production fell slightly but national and total dispatches continued to grow,” said the cement association. |

This reversed the previous month’s fall of 1.4 per cent. Cement output in April expanded by 7.5 per cent YoY to 831,000t. Some 29,000t of this volume was exported, reflecting an eight per cent decrease when compared with April 2015. In addition, 23,000t of clinker was exported – some 17 per cent below the April 2015 level. |

Peru’s cement demand edges down in January16 February 2016, Published under Cement NewsCement consumption in Peru slipped by 0.4 per cent YoY from 816,000t in January 2015 to 813,000t in January 2016, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. In addition, clinker exports reached 28,000t, down 69 per cent, while cement exports fell by 29 per cent to 29,000t during the first month of 2016.
