Cementos Lima's 2011 shipments fall, Peru

Cementos Lima, the largest cement manufacturer in Peru, saw cement shipments in 2011 decline by 53,000t, down 1.6% from 2010. This brings the company’s total cement shipments for the year to 3.2Mt. However, cement dispatches in the overall Peruvian rose from 8.5Mt to 8.8Mt. Cemento Andino expansion set for April completion

Expansion work at Cemento Andino’s clinker plant is expected to be completed in April this year, reports Generacion of Peru. The investment will see the company’s capacity increase by 60 per cent (70,000tpa) to reach 2.1Mt.

Peruvian 2011 shipments rise marginally

Shipments of cement in the Peruvian market totaled 8.9Mt between January and December 2011, 2.42 per cent more than that recorded in 2010, when (8.98Mt), reported the Association of Cement Producers (Asocem). Growth is mainly attributed to private demand. During that period the cement production was 8.5Mt representing a YoY of 2.41 per cent, when it reached 8.3Mt.
