Sagar Cements sees improvement in consolidated production in August

India’s Sagar Cements has reported a 11.7 per cent YoY fall in its standalone production figures for August 2019, which declined to 182,891t from 207,008t. However, consolidated production climbed 2.5 per cent to 250,081t from 243,963t. Standalone cement sales were down 3.8 per cent YoY to 194,819t in the month, compared to 202,429t in August 2018. Meanwhile, consolidated cement sales advanced 8.9 per cent to 268,997t.

Sagar Cements records 22% rise in production for July

India’s Sagar Cements has seen a 22.3 per cent increase in consolidated cement production to 281,597t in July 2019, compared with 230,193t in the year-ago period. Standalone production rose 21.2 per cent to 200,808t from 165,629t. Consolidated cement sales also surged 25.1 per cent to 274,822, against 219,748 in July 2018.

Sagar Cements reports rise in cement production for May

India’s Sagar Cements has reported a 12.9 per cent YoY rise in consolidated cement production in May 2019, increasing to 277,146t from 245,454t in the year-ago period. Standalone production advanced 9.2 per cent to 201,241t, compared with 184,278t in May 2018. Meanwhile, sales climbed 13.3 per cent YoY to 275,330t in May 2019.

Sagar Cements completed Jajpur acquisition

India-based Sagar Cement has completed the acquisition of its 100 per cent stake in Jajpur Cements Private Ltd (JCPL). The company will now start the process of establishing a 1.5Mta greenfield grinding plant in Jajpur, Odisha. In December, Sagar Cements’ board had approved the investment of INR1.08bn (US$15.6m) in JCPL in a phased manner and to set up the INR3.08bn plant in Jajpur. The new unit is expected to be completed by March 2021.

Sagar Cements has approved significant investment in both Satguru Cements and Jajpur Cements, which will enable the company to expand its presence in central and eastern India. India’s Sagar Cements has reported that its consolidated production has increased by 40.1 per cent YoY to 273,216Mt for October 2018, compared to 195,066Mt in October 2017. Furthermore, the company’s consolidated sales for the month rose by 43.73 per cent YoY to 279,554Mt from 194,500Mt.

India’s Sagar Cements has reported that its consolidated cement production increased 27.2 per cent in September 2018, rising to 256,507Mt from 201,690Mt. Furthermore, consolidated cement sales advanced 21.8 per cent to 249,882Mt, compared with 205,097Mt of the year-ago period.

Sagar Cements commissions capacity expansion

Star Cement records 10% rise in operating revenue

Star Cement Ltd has released its results for the third quarter of FY17-18, showing a growth in operating revenue of 10.1 per cent YoY. Adjusted for excise duty, this translates to INR3.77bn (US$58.8m) against INR3.42bn of the 3QFY16-17, according to IIFL. Sagar Cements is expecting around 18 per cent jump in its production to 2.6Mt in FY17-18 following the consolidation of a grinding unit acquired last year.
