Ugandan government supports new cement plant

Sinoma anticipates substantial rise in interim net profit

China National Materials Company (Sinoma) said it expects the net profit attributable to the shareholders of the parent company for the six months ended 30 June 2017 to record a substantial increase as compared to the same period of last year. Such expected growth is mainly attributable to the increase in the prices and sales volume of cement. Its interim results announcement is expected to be published before the end of August, ET News reports.

Pakistan: Bestway Cement awards Sinoma brownfield project

Bestway Cement Ltd informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it will set up a brownfield cement plant with a capacity of 6000tpd clinker at its Farooqia site in District Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in northern Pakistan. According to Sehar Hussain, secretary and general counsel of the company, Bestway Cement signed an agreement with Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd on 1 March 2017. According to the APCMA,  Bestway Cement’s four plants have a combined capacity of 7.9Mta.

Mali's government and Gaia Equity Ltd have signed on 16 September a memorandum of understanding and an establishment agreement for the construction of a 1.5Mta cement plant in the country.
