Iran reports 4% growth in 11M cement exports

Iran has reported a four per cent YoY growth in cement exports at 12,652,000t in the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (21 March 2018-21 February 2019). However, the value of cement exports fell 14 per cent YoY to around US$398.4m, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). Cement imports also declined during the period, decreasing 21 per cent YoY to around 39,600t.

Tajikistan boosts output in Jan-Feb 2019

Tajikistan recorded a nine per cent increase in cement production to 482,000t in the first two months of 2019. Exports from the country reached 182,000t in the same period, according to a report by Asia-Plus, however, an annual comparison was not stated. An estimated 5Mta of cement capacity is now operational in the country, with Huaxin Gayur Cement, Chzhungtsai Mohir Cement and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement accounting for approximately 80 per cent of the overall volume of cement output.

India records cement price increase in February

Cement prices across India rose by around INR25/50kg (US$0.35/50kg) last month on the back of increased demand, reports The Hindu Business Line. The southern region recorded the steepest rise per bag at INR52 in Bengaluru, INR62 in Chennai and INR77 in Hyderabad. Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Industries Ltd, has revealed the target set for Dangote Cement’s export plans by next year. Vietnam expected to record 8-9% cement sales increase

Vietnam is expected to record an 8-9 per cent YoY rise in cement sales to 98-99Mt in 2019, according to a forecast by the country’s Ministry of Construction. Of this, domestic sales would consist of 70Mt while the additional 29-30Mt would be exports. Two more production lines are also expected to push cement output to 101.74Mt from a total of 84 lines. The country produced 90.2Mt of cement in 2018.

Cement prices rise 36-44% in Tamil Nadu

Vietnam estimated to produce 7.8Mt in January

Vietnam’s General Statistics Office has estimated that the country produced 7.8Mt of cement in January 2019. This figure represents a 5.9 per cent YoY increase, but is down 1.6 per cent MoM. Revised figures for 2018 show that the country produced 90.2Mt in the full-year period, up 9.7 per cent YoY.

The volume of Vietnamese cement exports rose 55 per cent YoY to 31.65Mt in 2018, according to the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA).
