The Jamaica government says it is still awaiting a shipment of 20,000t of cement from Cuba as the island continues to reel from a shortage of the commodity. Caribbean Cement has announced the temporary suspension of bagged cement sales. In a statement, the company said the sales have been suspended pending the approval by the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) for cement packaged since Saturday.
