The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (AMMP) is to build a 1.5Mta cement plant in Surkhandarya region in southern Uzbekistan by 2017. According to reports by the Times of Central Asia, the government has instructed AMMP to start negotiations with Turkey’s Dal Teknik Makina on the project’s implementation. Turkish company DAL Teknik Makina has placed an order for a Gebr Pfeiffer MPS 3350 B vertical roller mill for raw meal which is to be used for the manufacture of grey cement and white cement at a cement plant in Uzbekistan. Control over producer Bekabadcement has been transferred from industrial holding United Cement Group (UCG) to the Uzbek State Committee for State Property Management, a regional media report. Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant and SC Uzstroymateriali have announced plans to build a new 600,000tpa cement plant in Uzbekistan.
