In 2016 Tajikistan exported 300,000t of cement, mainly to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, according to Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Shavkat Bobozoda. Production of cement in Tajikistan rose by over 41 per cent in the first 11 months of 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year, the Times of Central Asia reports. Tajikistan has commenced the export of cement to Uzbekistan, according to the Tajik Ministry of Industry. Between January-September 2016 Ahangarancement JSC, the second-largest cement producer in Uzbekistan, increased cement production by six per cent to 1.418Mt, as compared to the same period of last year. Kyzulkumzement in Uzbekistan awarded Schade, part of the Aumund Group, the contract to supply two bridge-type reclaimers and a stacker to its plant.
