Uzbekistan has seen the official launch of a US$116m cement plant in Jizzakh oblast, which will add to the country’s grey and white cement production capabilities. The greenfield works, based in the Zafarabad area, has a grey capacity of 0.76Mta, plus 0.35Mta of white cement. Ahangarancement output rises in 2013, Uzbekistan

Ahangarancement, part of the Eurocement Group, produced over 1.116Mt of clinker and 1.62Mt of cement in 2013. The Uzbekistan-based producer said clinker volumes rose by 13 per cent YoY (or 137,600t) while cement output was up by six per cent (86,400t). Akhangaracement JSC, part of the Eurocement Group, produced 1.176Mt of cement and 853,503t of clinker in the first nine months of the year, up 1.61 per cent and 7.66 per cent YoY respectively. Ahangarancement, part of the Eurocement Group of Russia, produced 565,200t of clinker and 739,500t of cement in the first half of 2013, representing a YoY rise of 12.8 per cent and 1.4 per cent. New plant for Uzbekistan under planning

The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (AMMP) is to build a 1.5Mta cement plant in Surkhandarya region in southern Uzbekistan by 2017. Turkish company DAL Teknik Makina has placed an order for a Gebr Pfeiffer MPS 3350 B vertical roller mill for raw meal which is to be used for the manufacture of grey cement and white cement at a cement plant in Uzbekistan.
