Starlinger opens new representative office in Uzbekistan

Starlinger & Co GmbH, Austrian manufacturer of machinery for woven plastic packaging production and plastics recycling, has opened a representative office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Control of Bekabadcement transferred, Uzbekistan

Control over producer Bekabadcement has been transferred from industrial holding United Cement Group (UCG) to the Uzbek State Committee for State Property Management, a regional media report. New plant announced by SC Uzstroymateriali, Uzbekistan

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant and SC Uzstroymateriali have announced plans to build a new 600,000tpa cement plant in Uzbekistan. The new plant, which will also produce 100,000tpa of white cement, follows the two-fold expansion of domestic cement capacity – from 3.2Mta to 6.8Mta – over the past decade.
