Construction starts on new 1.5Mta Uzbek plant

Construction of a new cement plant in Yanguikurgan district in Namangan region of Uzbekistan has been started. The works has a capacity of 1.5Mta and is built on a 40ha plot. Total cost of the investment is US$105m, of which Chinese investors contribute US$90m. The facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020 and will provide 700 new jobs.

Tajikistan produces 1.6Mt of cement in 5M19

Cement producers in Tajikistan have manufactured 1.575Mt of cement in the first five months of 2019, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technology. In January-May 2018 output reached 1.473Mt while for the full year, over 3.844Mt was produced. Of this total, 0.619Mt was exported, 53,000t more than in the year-ago period. Tajikistan's cement exports rise in 5M19

Tajikistan has exported nearly 620,000t of cement over the first five months of 2019, with average monthly exports at around 124,000t. The total is over 100,000t more than in Jan-May 2018, according to Asia-Plus. In the 5M19 the country exported 346,000t of cement to Uzbekistan, 247,000t to Afghanistan and 27,000t to Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).

New US$400m cement plant in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan

UTD Cement, a joint venture of two Germany-based companies and a private investor, will build a US$400m cement plant in Farishky district, Jizzakh, Uzbekistan. China’s Huaxin Cement Co Ltd has started construction on the 1.2Mta cement plant in Zafarabad district, Jizzakh region in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan blocks export of cement from Kyrgyzstan, MP Azamat Arapbaev said at the meeting of the Kyrgyz parliamentary committee of economic and fiscal policy, according to Central Asia News. China-based Gansu Hengya Cement Co will participate in a new 1.2Mta cement plant in the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand, Uzbekistan, according to a report by Trend News Agency.
