Ha Tien 1 Cement JSC (HT1) has approved a plan to issue 120 million new shares in a private placement to Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer. The issuance is aimed to reduce its loans contracted with Vicem, HT1 said in a statement sent to the bourse. Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 11.69Mt of cement and clinker in the first six months of 2013, representing a YoY increase of 17.3 per cent and fulfilling 51.9 per cent of its whole-year target. Vietnam’s leading cement producer Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem) reported a 19.2 per cent YoY rise as domestic shipments increased but exports declined. The state-run cement corporation said it sold 4.91Mt of cement and clinker in the first quarter of 2013, rising 19.2 per cent YoY. Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem) has reported a rise in overall cement and clinker sales for the first two months of the year but export volumes declined. Vicem Hoang Mai Cement seeks to raise 2013 pretax target, Vietnam

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC is seeking approval from its parent company Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) to revise its 2013 pretax target upwards by 4.65 per cent. The company hopes to raise its target to VND90bn (US$4.29m) from the initial VND86bn, its chief accountant, Tran Minh Son, told the Dau Tu Chung Khoan newspaper. Last year Hoang Mai Cement achieved a net profit of VND112.72bn (US$5.39m) on revenue of VND1.53trn last year, down 13 and up 8.07 per cent, respectively.

Hoang Mai Cement (HOM) JSC targets a profit of VND86bn (US$4.11m) this year, according to the company’s chief accountant, Tran Minh Son.
