VICEM records 30% drop in profit in 2022

Vietnam’s VICEM has reported profits of VND1.53trn (US$63.9m) in 2022, down 30 per cent YoY. Revenue, meanwhile, advanced 17 per cent to VND39.45trn over the same period, reports VN Express. Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem) has signed an agreement with Fenix (CEZA) International Inc and Gold Falcon Trading Corporation to export 6Mt of cement and clinker to the Philippines in 2023-25, reports Vietnam News Brief Service. Vietnam's cement sector has come under pressure from falling consumption, particularly in its key export markets. Vietnam-based Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (VICEM) sold 29.44Mt of cement and clinker in 2021, reflecting stable sales when compared with 2020, according to local media. Ha Tien sees 65% drop in 4Q net profit

Ha Tien 1 Cement JSC , in which Vietnam Cement Industry Corp holds a 79.7 per cent stake, reported a 65.4 per cent YoY fall in consolidated net profit to VND53.32bn (US$2.3m) in the 4Q21 due to a decrease in gross profit. The company’s net profit during the quarter declined 8.5 per cent YoY to VND2.02trn. Vietnam’s total sales of cement and clinker has been estimated at 101.5Mt for 2020, representing a rise of 1.5 per cent over 2019.
