The cement price in Kinshasa, DR of Congo, continues to climb. At present the retail price of a 50kg bag of cement stands at CFD17,000 (US$17.90) with retailers saying they are charged US$12.50/bag by wholesalers of Cimenterie de Lukala (CILU).

Paraguay’s Industria Nacional del Cemento (INC) forecasts a fall in cement prices at the start of 2017 as the cement producer brings online its new cement mill and the fuel conversion of the kiln is completed. The price of a bag of grey cement in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, has fallen from CDF12,500 (US$13.54) at the start of the year to CDF10,500 at the end of February, representing a fall of 15 per cent. The decrease in price has been attributed to the supply of Chinese cement imports.
