Vietnam cement sales rise 5% in March

Vietnam sold an estimated 7.96Mt of cement in March, representing a 4.5 per cent MoM increase and 25 per cent of the full-year target, according to the Vietnam Building Material Association. Indonesia's cement consumption rose 9.9 per cent YoY to 5.68Mt in January 2018. The growth of demand is being attributed to rising cement demand on the back of the government-led infrastructure development programmes, particularly the construction of toll roads. Argentina’s cement dispatches up 17% in January

Argentine cement producers dispatches 1,030,280t of cement, including exports, in January, up 3.2 per cent MoM and 17.3 per cent YoY, according to AFCP, the country’s cement association. The domestic market (including imports) expanded by 3.9 per cent MoM and 19.4 per cent YoY as manufacturers delivered 1,043,651t.  Private consultants expect the market to continue its growth path in the next few years at an annual rate of seven per cent.

Uzbekistan’s monopoly enterprises will sell cement only through exchange auctions from 1 January 2018, according to a new resolution of the country’s government on the production and consumption of cement in 2018. The sales of Saudi cement producers fell 15.5 per cent to 3.72Mt in August 2017 when compared to 4.4Mt reported in August 2016. Cement sales in Indonesia rose 0.2 per cent YoY to 4.54Mt in February 2017 from 4.54Mt in the same month one year earlier, said Indonesia Investments.
