Siam Cement Group's Philippine sales rise 46% July-September 2018

Siam Cement Group (SCG) of Thailand has reported a cement sales increase between July-September 2018 of 46 per cent, boosted by the government's 'Build, Build, Build' in the Philippines. SCG’s Philippine sales from July to September expanded by to PHP5.09bn (US$94.8m), from PHP3.48bn during the same period last year. PT Semen Indonesia reports its cement sales in August 2018 amounted to 20.67Mt, a rise of four per cent compared to 19.88Mt in August 2017. Siam Cement Group (SCG) expects its growth target for 2018 in Myanmar to be affected by inflation and flooding. This is despite seeing cement sales in Mon state rise nine per cent YoY and revenues of US$152m in the 1H18, which were up 14 per cent on 1H17. Pakistan cement sales up 5% YoY in July

Cement sales in Pakistan increased 5.1 per cent in the first month of FY18-19. In July, total cement dispatches rose to 3.554Mt from 3.382Mt in July 2017, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers’ Association. Saudi cement sector expected to record revenue decline in 2Q18

Saudi Arabia’s cement sector is expected to record a fall in revenue in the 2Q18, according to Al Rajhi Capital. The companies monitored by Al Rajhi are expected to announce a revenue decline of around six per cent YoY for the period, while earnings could decrease by approximately 10 per cent. Taiwanese cement industry records sales surge in May

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) has announced that the cement industry was amongst the top three sectors in terms of YoY sales growth in May 2018, alongside the semiconductor and fuel/utility sectors. Over the period, 645 listed companies reported a YoY increase in revenue, while 271 saw a fall. Sales generated by listed cement businesses noted a 34.3 per cent YoY surge in revenue to TWD21.1bn (US$701.98m) on the back of rising demand from China, according to data complied by the TWSE.

Dominican cement producers saw a 3.7 per cent fall in domestic sales and a five per cent decline in exports in the January-February 2018 period, according to the President of the Dominican Association of Cement Producers (Adocem), Rayza J Rodriguez. Vietnam sold an estimated 7.96Mt of cement in March, representing a 4.5 per cent MoM increase and 25 per cent of the full-year target, according to the Vietnam Building Material Association.
