Vietnamese cement sales expected to rise 8% in Jan-Apr 2019

In the first four months of 2019, Vietnamese cement sales have been estimated to rise eight per cent YoY to 35.45Mt, according to the Vietnam Building Materials Association. This includes 21.65Mt sold domestically and a 23 per cent YoY rise in exports to 13.8Mt. Cement sales are expected to reach 9.18Mt in April, which is consistent with the previous year. Cement sales rise by 16% in Saudi Arabia in February

Cement and clinker sales in Saudi Arabia rose 15.7 per cent YoY to 4.24Mt (including exports) in February 2019 compared to 3.67Mt in the previous year.   Clinker inventory increased 17.6 per cent YoY, but fell one per cent MoM to 41.88Mt in February 2019. The cement industry dispatched 3.325Mt in February 2019 against dispatches of 3.78Mt in February 2018, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Puerto Rican cement sales surge 39% in 2018

Cement sales in Puerto Rico advanced by 38.9 per cent to 14.3m bags of 42.5kg, or 607,750t in 2018. The figure is the highest reported since 2014 and has been attributed mainly to the island’s reconstruction drive following Hurricane Maria. Cement output reached 13.2m bags, or 561,000t, representing a 44.6 per cent rise YoY when compared with 2017, when production volumes fell by 14.2 per cent, according to Esmerk Latin American News.

Aggregate cement sales from 17 producers in Saudi Arabia slipped by six per cent in December to 3.82Mt, compared to 4.08Mt in December 2017, reported Yamama cement.
