Shanshui Cement on Friday said it expects to record a loss in net profit for the six months ended 30 June 2015 compared to the net profit of the same corresponding period in 2014, adding that the loss is expected to be "relatively significant." Cement production in Poland increased by 1.6 per cent YoY to 1.65Mt in July, while sales were up by 1.7 per cent to 1.71Mt, Poland's Cement Producer Association said in a statement. Year-to-date production grew two per cent YoY to 8.84Mt. Meanwhile, year-to-date sales rose by 2.3 per cent to 9.04Mt.

Argentina: July cement demand climbs 12.6% YoY

The Argentinean cement market expanded by 1.3 per cent MoM and 12.6 per cent YoY in July 2015, according to domestic cement producers’ association, AFCP. The country’s cement plants dispatched 1,073,762t, including 4140t of exports, a YoY increase in total deliveries of 11 per cent and a MoM rise of 1.3 per cent. No cement was imported. Colombia’s cement dispatches rose 10.2 per cent YoY in June to 1.0121Mt as building companies and contractors increased their demand by 25.8 per cent. Senegal cement sales up 0.7% in 5M15

Demand for cement in Senegal edged up 0.7 per cent YoY to 1,432,100t in January-May 2015, according to national Planning and Economic Study Directorate. Production in the first five months of 2015 increased 9.6 per cent to 2,444,100t when compared with 2,230,800t noted in 5M14. Output was buoyed by a 26 per cent YoY rise in exports, which surpassed the 1Mt mark at 1,050,400t during the five-month period.
