Vietnam monthly sales climb 15% YoY

Vietnam’s clinker and cement sales climbed 15 per cent from a year earlier to 6.62Mt in January, the Ministry of Construction said. Of the total 5.12Mt were sold in the domestic market, up 17 per cent YoY while 1.5Mt of cement and clinker were exported, the Xay Dung online newspaper cited the ministry as saying Thursday. Pakistan 8MFY16 dispatches rise on higher domestic demand

Pakistan cement dispatches rose 17.49 per cent to 20.89Mt during the first eight months (July-February) of 2015-16 from 17.78Mt in the same period last year. ThaiGroup JSC signs South Africa export supply agreement

ThaiGroup JSC, formerly known as Xuan Thanh Group JSC, has signed deal with the UK-based Ores & Minerals UK Ltd to export cement to South Africa, local media said. Dominican Republic: market expands, prices fall

National cement production in the Dominican Republic reached 5.18Mt, an increase of 3.2 per cent YoY, according to official statistics. This represents 75 per cent of the country’s installed production capacity of 6.91Mt. Meanwhile, the domestic market expanded by 6.2 per cent when compared with 2014. PT Semen Indonesia Tbk reported an 18.7 per cent drop in 2015 net profit to IDR4.52trn (US$336.56m) versus IDR5.56trn a year earlier. Cement production in Senegal rose 12.9 per cent in 2015 when compared with the previous year, according to the country’s Directorate of Economic Forecasting and Studies (DPEE). Cement producers Sococim and Cements du Sahel expanded their output from 4,939,200t in 2014 to 5,576,000t in 2015.
