Cement consumption in Spain remained stable in June, registering a -0.1 per cent slip when compared to June 2021, according to the Spanish cement association, Oficemen. In the first six months of 2022, demand increased by 2.5 per cent to 7,487,569t, but exports were down 21 per cent YoY to 2,908,877t. The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) of Pakistan has released cement export data for July 2021-June  2022. Cement demand in Iran reached 5.8Mt in June 2022, edging up slightly when compared with 5.78Mt of cement sold in June 2021. Iranian cement plants produced 6.6Mt of clinker and 5.58Mt of cement in June 2022. Clinker output slipped by 2.2 per cent from 0.63Mt in June 2021 while cement output declined by 7.3 per cent YoY. Domestic cement dispatches in Vietnam slipped one per cent MoM and four per cent YoY to 5.590Mt in June 2022, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Cement consumption in Peru increased four per cent to 1.126Mt in June 2022 from 1.08Mt in June 2021, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Of this total, 1.067Mt was dispatched by Asocem members – representing a slight increase when compared with 1Mt in June 2021. Sales of cement in Brazil saw a five per cent drop to 5.184Mt in June 2022 when compared with June 2021, according to the latest data by the Brazilian cement association, SNIC. Domestic sales of Portland cement in Thailand increased 10.9 per cent MoM to 2Mt in May 2022 but when compared with May 2021, sales were down 16 per cent, according the Office of Industrial Economics. Argentina’s cement demand increased by 14.8 per cent YoY and one per cent MoM to 1,109,755t, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) released 12 months of local and overseas dispatch data on 4 July. During the FY21-22 (July 2021-June 2022) total cement dispatches were 52.89Mt, 7.9 per cent lower than 57.43Mt dispatched during the last fiscal year. Cement production in Italy advanced by three per cent in April 2022 when compared with the 2015 baseline index of 100, according to Federbeton, the country’s concrete association.
