Buzzi in strategic agreement with W&P Cementi

Buzzi sees advances in Russia and US

Italian cement major Buzzi Unicem saw turnover decline by 2.1 per cent last year to EUR2754m as the company saw another fall in its domestic market of Italy, but Russia and the US were its best performers. Net debt at the end of December was 5.3 per cent below the level seen a year earlier at EUR1066m. Italcementi's turnover declined by 5.4 per cent in 2013 to EUR4235.4m, or by 2.2 per cent on a comparable basis. Group cement shipments declined by a further six per cent to 43.1Mt and the turnover from cement and clinker was down by 6.4 per cent to EUR2716.8m, with cement volumes lower everywhere other than in Asia and in North America. Cementir offsets a weaker Italy by better markets elsewhere

Cementir Holding's turnover improved by 1.3 per cent to  EUR988.6m, while at constant currencies the increase would have been 5.6 per cent. Cementir sets out 2014-16 business targets

Buzzi Unicem's turnover for the first nine months declined up by 3.2 per cent to EUR2078.5m and the EBITDA came off by 10.6 per cent to EUR335.8m. Buzzi Unicem said today that Standard & Poor’s confirmed the long-term corporate rating (BB+) on Buzzi Unicem and its German subsidiary Dyckerhoff AG and the short-term rating (B) on both groups, thus removing them from the credit watch with negative implications announced on 8 August 2013.
