Birla Cement is to benefit from new open access solar power project

Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer has supplied 330wp & 335wp solar modules for a 28MWp captive solar open access project in Uttar Pradesh that will supply power to Birla Corporation Ltd (MP Birla Cement).   This is the first captive open access project commissioned in Uttar Pradesh under the Uttar Pradesh Connectivity Auction. The project which was inaugurated in March 2021.  

Prism Johnson commissions further WHR and solar capacity

India’s Prism Johnson has commissioned a 12.4MW waste heat recovery (WHR) unit and 10MW of solar power at its cement plant in Satna, Madya Pradesh. This is in addition to the 12.5MW of solar power capacity that was put into operation in the FY19-20 and the 10MW WHR facility that was installed in November 2020 at the same plant. The installations are expected to help the company reduce its dependence on non-renewable sources of energy and are part of its sustainability initiatives.

Gorazdze Cement signs 10-year solar power deal

Gorazdze Cement (HeidelbergCement group) is being supplied solar electricity from BayWa r.e. for the next decade. PPC Zimbabwe to establish 32MW solar plant

PPC Zimbabwe has found an investor for its project to establish a 32MW solar plant at its Colleen Bawn plant in Matabeleland South province. Half of the plant’s output will be used for the company’s cement manufacturing operations, while the other half will be supplied to the national power grid.
