Saudi Arabian cement sales declined to 4.01Mt in September 2023, down six per cent compared to the 4.26Mt seen in the same period a year earlier, according to Aljazira Capital. Raysut Cement Co has appointed Mr Tarek Talaat as its new CEO.   Mr Talaat has 30 years of experience in the cement sector. He has worked at several leading companies in his career, including Holcim, Arabian Cement and Ras Al Khaimah White Cement. Saudi Arabia's exports fall 21% YoY in August

Saudi Arabia saw its cement exports decline by 21.3 per cent in August 2023 to 620,000t. Iran’s cement market expanded by 15.9 per cent YoY to 5.77Mt in August 2023 from 4.98Mt in August 2022, according to the Iranian Cement Association. Cement production increased by 13.8 per cent YoY to 5.6Mt while clinker output edged up by 1.8 per cent to 5.72Mt in August 2023. Domestic cement producers exported 0.38Mt of cement, up 26.7 per cent YoY, but clinker exports fell by 16.5 per cent YoY to 0.66Mt in August 2023.

In the January-June 2023 period, Southern Province Cement logged net profits after zakat and tax valued at SAR68m (US$18.1m) down 54.6 per cent YoY from SAR150m.
