Uzbekistan’s cement manufacturers plan to open points of sale at fixed prices to customers, in the hope that this will prevent speculation in the market. Uzbekistan: Sherabad works holds foundation ceremony

The foundation ceremony for Popcement, an Uzbek-Chinese-Arab joint venture was held in Sherabad, Namangan region, Uzbekistan. The project represents an investment of US$50m. The initial production capacity of the new Sherabad plant is expected to be 0.5Mta, but it is expected to increase to 1.5Mta of Portland cement from 2019.

Aumund Fördertechnik is in the process of delivering a drag chain package order for Almalyk Mining and Processing (AGMK) for the greenfield Sherabad cement plant in Uzbekistan. The government of Uzbekistan has approved a balance of production and consumption of cement for 2018. The country plans to produce 9.198Mt of cement in 2018, with Uzstroymateriali to produce 7.775Mt. Uzbekistan’s Kuvasaycement sees 3% revenue increase

Kuvaysaycement JSC saw its revenues increase by 3.4 per cent in the first nine months of 2017 to UZS236.7bn. However, the company saw its cost of production increase by 7.5 per ent to UZS93.5bn during the period. EBITDA fell by 34.1 per cent to UZS81bn. Kuvaysaycement produces sulphate-resistant Portland cement SSPTS 400 D20, Portland cement with mineral additive PC 400 D20 as well as Portland cement for the production of asbestos cement products.

Uzbekistan cement only to be sold through exchanges

Uzbekistan’s monopoly enterprises will sell cement only through exchange auctions from 1 January 2018, according to a new resolution of the country’s government on the production and consumption of cement in 2018. Evergreen Holdings to build new plant in Uzbekistan

Evergreen Holdings has initiated plans to construct a new cement plant in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. The South Korean company will complete the project in several stages according to the demand of cement in Uzbekistan and neighbouring countries, reports Trend News Agency. The total capacity of the five operational cement plants in Uzbekistan is over 8.5Mta. However, the country hopes to increase cement output to 17Mta within the next five years.

Eurocement Group unveil plans to build cement plant

The new cement plant will be an expansion on the site of Akhangarancement JSC in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This project is expected to raise the annual production capacity of the site from 2Mt to 5Mt. According to Eurocement Group, the plant will be fitted with equipment mainly from European manufacturers and become the largest cement enterprise in the region. Eurocement holds tender applications for 2.4Mta plant in Uzbekistan

Eurocement Group is currently holding a tender for a general contractor to build a new cement plant in the Angren Free Economic Zone in Uzbekistan, the Jahon information agency reports. DAL Teknik Makina orders second Pfeiffer mill for Uzbekistan

DAL Teknik Makina, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, has ordered a Gebr Pfeiffer MVR mill for a new project in the province of Surxondaryo in Uzbekistan. The mill to be supplied is an MVR 5000 R-4 with a drive power of 3700kW, producing 400tph of cement raw meal. The material with a feed moisture of as much as seven per cent will be ground to a fineness of 12 per cent residue 0.090mm. The MVR mill will be ready for dispatch before the end of this year, Gebr Pfeiffer said in a statement.
