In the last two years, thyssenkrupp has successfully developed, designed and put into operation the first-ever fully automated tailor-made longitudinal storage system at a cement plant in Halimoru in Turkey (see Figure 1). This state-of-the-art storage solution helps make stockyard management in cement plants more precise, efficient and health-friendly. Correctives for raw meal grinding are stored on one side of the facility and additives for cement grinding on the other. A 180° slewing belt stacker installed in the middle runs up and down on rails to stack the additives and correctives into piles (see Figure 2). Two portal scrapers, one on each outer side, reclaim the materials, as required.
