Siam City Cement plans to set up a new power plant burning industrial waste, a report in Krungthep Turakij said. Holcim, the major shareholder in Siam City Cement, has been successful in building a trash-burning power plant at its factory in Ziggenthal, Switzerland. The company hopes to use the same technology to set up a trash-burning power plant to provide energy for its plant in Saraburi, Thailand. The project will cost US$20-30m.
