The Podilskyi Tsement cement company (Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region), majority-owned by CRH, which is one of the three largest producers of cement in Ukraine, has started to modernise its production facilities.  Reconstruction envisages a new coal burning clinker system to replace the current gas-fired burner.
 
Podilskyi Tsement operates six kilns with total projected capacity of 3.7Mt a year and takes second place after Baltsem (Balakleia, Kharkiv region), owned by Eurocement, which has a production capacity of 4Mta.
