Brazilian investors have expressed and interesting exploring large limestone deposits in at least four districts of Mozambique’s Nampula province, said the provincial inspector and spokesman for the Mining Resources and energy Directorate, Fila Lazaro. He added that they planned to use limestone to produce clinker and to correct acid soil.

Teams of mining consultants hired by the Brazilian investors, recently visited the coastal districts of Nampula, Memba, Mossuril, and Nacala, and the interior district of Monapo, as part of a mission to look into the conditions available in terms of access roads to carry the limestone away to a factory where it can be processed.
