Iran’s cement exports increased seven per cent YoY to 3.8Mt in the first seven months of the Iranian year started 21 March, according to Abdurreza Sheykhan, chairman of Iran's Cement Industry Employers Association. Exports of clinker bricks also rose in the same period, increasing 13.6 per cent to 3.84Mt.
However, Mr Sheykhan also noted that there is a probability that cement exports may decrease in the upcoming months. Sanctions and increases in both internal and international transportation expenditures resulted in falling exports in the eighth month of the country’s year.
