Senegalese cement sales see 6% upturn in January

In January 2022 Senegal’s cement market expanded 8.9 per cent when compared with December 2021 and 6.2 per cent when compared with January 2021, says the country’s National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD). Export sales declined 31.7 per cent MoM and 18.1 per cent YoY in January 2022.

Senegal sales up 12% YoY

Cement sales in Senegal advanced 12.7 per cent MoM and by 11.9 per cent YoY in November 2021, according to its National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD). Output from the plants of SOCOCIM, Dangote and Ciments du Sahel increased by 11 per cent MoM  and by 20.7 per cent YoY in November 2021. Exports declined 5.6 per cent in November 2021 when compared with export shipments in October 2021 although YoY they were up 29.6 per cent.

Senegal demand surges but exports fall in April

The Senegalese cement market expanded by 158.7 per cent in April 2021, according to the Agence Nationale de la Statistique et de la Demographie. However, domestic output declined by 9.9 per cent while export sales slipped by 3.5 per cent YoY in April 2021.

Cement exports from Senegal drop 35% in February

Exports of cement from Senegal declined 35.3 per cent MoM in February 2021, according to the country’s national statistics agency, ANSD. When compared with February 2020, exports decreased 32.4 per cent. Domestic sales fell by eight per cent MoM in February 2021 while output from Senegalese cement plants was down by 6.5 per cent in the same period. When compared with the equivalent month of 2020, sales and output improved by 12.5 and 3.1 per cent, respectively.
