Capacity utilisation of the Pakistan cement industry declined to 68.29 per cent in the first two months of the current fiscal (FY12-13), the lowest level in a decade figures from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) show. Pakistan dispatches in the first month of the current fiscal saw a decline of 1.64 per cent compared to July 2011, according to data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Pakistan has closed fiscal year 2011-12 (FY11-12) with an 8.84 per cent YoY rise in local dispatches, however exports for the year have seen their third successive year of decline and capacity utilisation remains under pressure. During the first 11 months (July 2011-May 2012) of the current fiscal year, Pakistan exported 7.64Mt of cement and earned US$446.85m compared to 8.44Mt at US$414.773m in the corresponding period of last year. During 9MFY2011-12 (July-March), Pakistan cement exporters saw recovery in cement exports in terms of value. In Pakistani currency, the export also rose by 6.06%. Pakistan cement exports in the first seven months (July 2011-January 2012) of the current fiscal year fell in terms of quantity but gained in price by US$4.33/t, data by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.
