Pakistan cement exporters have registered almost a 30 per cent YoY rise in cement export volumes in the first six months of the current fiscal. Pakistan has recorded a rise in domestic cement sales in the first half of the current fiscal but export levels continue to remain under pressure. During the first five months of the current fiscal (FY12-13) Pakistan exported 3.612Mt of cement and earned US$245.48m compared to 3.624Mt at US$192.31m in the corresponding period of last year. Over the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (beginning 20 March 2012), Iran exported over 9.38Mt of cement and clinker, representing an increase of 30 per cent compared to the same period of last year, the IRNA News Agency reported. Pakistan’s cement producers recorded a fall in cement exports to 741,782t at US$43.68m when compared with the September figure of 745,237t at US$54.96, declines of 0.46% and 20.53%, respectively. Pakistan dispatches in the first month of the current fiscal saw a decline of 1.64 per cent compared to July 2011, according to data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
