Pakistan’s export volumes fell 7.5 per cent YoY in the first seven months of the current Pakistan fiscal, while revenues were also down 13 per cent over the same period. Pakistan exports declined both in terms of volume and value in the first six months of the current fiscal, data from the Bureau of Statistics shows. Cement exports totalled 4.206Mt on revenues of US$257.07m compared to 4.681Mt at US$304.31m. This translates into a 10.15 per cent decline in volume and 15.52 per cent fall in dollar value on a YoY basis. During the first five months of FY13-14, Pakistan exported 3.749Mt of cement on foreign exchange revenues of US$225.30m, down 0.44 and 8.03 per cent YoY in terms of volume and value, respectively. Pakistan export volumes have increased in the first four months of the current fiscal compared to the same period a year ago, but October volumes were down on a monthly and annual basis. Pakistan exports have had a disappointing start to the current fiscal, falling 1.98 and 3.46 per cent in terms of quantity and dollar value, respectively on a MoM basis. During July 2013, Pakistan exported 854,477t of cement and earned US US$51.49m compared to 871,764t at US$53.33m in corresponding month last year, according to data from the country’s Bureau of Statistics. In the fiscal year ending 30 June 2013, Pakistan exported 9.073Mt of cement on revenues of US$577.73m compared to 8.748Mt at US$498.84m in the corresponding period of last year. These latest figures from Pakistan’s Federal Bureau of Statistics show that export volumes rose by 3.71 per cent while in dollar value terms, they were 15.81 per cent higher compared to the comparative period a year earlier. During the first 11 months of fiscal FY12-3, Pakistan exported 8.013Mt of cement and earned US$524.68m, up 1.27 per cent and 17.43 per cent, respectively. Pakistan saw a rise in total dispatches for the first 11 months of the current fiscal but May 2013 sales declined by one per cent largely due to transport issues. New Uzbekistan cement plant on track for year-end commissioning

A new 0.45Mta cement plant being constructed by Russian investors in Uzbekistan is on track for commissioning by the end of this year. Russian company OOO IP Surhan Cementinvest is building the factory in the Kurkugan district of Surkhandarya oblast. The plant will have access to rail and a 10MW substation of 110/10kV. Pakistan cement dispatches rose by 4.09 per cent in the first 10 months of the current fiscal, the latest data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) shows. Dispatches for the 10 months to April 2013 reached 27.664Mt compared to 26.576Mt during the same period of the previous year.
