Iran exports 7.65Mt of cement and clinker

Iran exported more than 7.65Mt of cement and clinker during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (21 March –22 October 2018). According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$29.05m by exporting 671,913t of cement during September compared to US$27.57m on 617,745t of cement in previous month. Tajik cement exports increased to 0.92Mt in January-August 2018, a rise of 37 per cent in average monthly exports when compared with 2017, according to the country’s statistics agency. According to Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics, the Pakistan cement industry earned a foreign exchange revenue of US$20.78m by exporting 446,741t of cement in May 2018 compared to US$19.147m on 404,898t of cement in previous month. Pakistan exported 2.43Mt of cement during FY15-16 to Afghanistan, which fell to 1.76Mt in FY2016-17. Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) in Afghanistan said they will re-issue a tender for the construction of the Jabal Saraj cement factory. Pakistan’s cement exports to India grew by 26.3 per cent in FY17. The export revenue of the cement industry in Pakistan fell 18.57 per cent YoY throughout the July-October 2017 period, to PKR9.05bn (US$85.97m) from PKR11.12bn. The volume of cement exported also decreased by 16.6 per cent in the same period, to 1.7Mt from 2.03Mt of the year-ago period.
