Tajikistan's cement exports rise in 5M19

Tajikistan has exported nearly 620,000t of cement over the first five months of 2019, with average monthly exports at around 124,000t. The total is over 100,000t more than in Jan-May 2018, according to Asia-Plus. In the 5M19 the country exported 346,000t of cement to Uzbekistan, 247,000t to Afghanistan and 27,000t to Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT).

Pakistan's cement industry received foreign exchange revenue of US$25.89m by exporting 624,714t of cement during the month of December 2018, compared to US$26.77m at 635,192t in the previous month. Iran produced 41Mt of cement during the nine months to 21 December 2018, of which 4.8Mt were exported, reports the Iran Cement Association. Afghanistan's government has taken back control of the Ghori Cement Factory. The Afghan Investment Co that was running the plant was held in violation of the law and decisions of the high economic council and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MOMP) has ordered the company to hand over the plant. Iran exported more than 7.65Mt of cement and clinker during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (21 March –22 October 2018). According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$29.05m by exporting 671,913t of cement during September compared to US$27.57m on 617,745t of cement in previous month. Tajik cement exports increased to 0.92Mt in January-August 2018, a rise of 37 per cent in average monthly exports when compared with 2017, according to the country’s statistics agency.
