Iran has exported cement to the value US$233m in the first seven months of the current financial year (started 20 March 2017). In terms of volumes, 7.1Mt of cement were exported to some 34 countries during this period. The export revenue of cement from Pakistan during the first three months of current financial year (July to September 2017) recorded a YoY fall of 17.84 per cent and 18.89 per cent in terms of quantity and value in dollars, respectively, according to data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan. Pakistan's cement export revenue during July 2017 increased by 25.02 per cent compared to the previous month but declined by 0.94 per cent on YoY basis, according to data released by the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics.   A breakdown of the figures reveals that the country exported 428,489t of cement with revenues of US$22.51m in July 2017 compared to 349,430t at US$18.01m in June, 2017. Pakistan cement exports during the first 11 months (July 2016 to May 2017) of the current fiscal declined by 21.27 per cent to 4.319Mt versus 5.486Mt a year earlier, according to latest data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Pakistan cement exports continue to disappoint

Pakistan exported 225,778t cement in April on revenues of US$13.49m, down 25.28 and 18.54 per cent, respectively compared to the previous month. Compared to April 2016, export volumes were down by 49.65 per cent from 507,958t and revenues fell by 49.65 per cent (US$26.31m) a year earlier, data from Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics shows. Czech investment in west Afghanistan plant project

A Czech company is reportedly set to invest US$70m in the establishment of a cement plant in west Afghanistan, according to Afghan local press. The agreement will be inked in next two months with a Czech firm, according to Sirus Alaf, an Afghan presidential economic adviser. Afghan government cancels licence on country’s only cement plant

The Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has cancelled the licence to operate the Ghori cement plant, Reuters reports. The 0.4Mta plant, located in Baghlan province just north of Kabul, was originally state-run, but control was transferred to the private sector in 2006. Last year, ownership of the firm was transferred to Afghan businessman Javid Jaihoon.
