Anhui Conch26 March 2018, Published under Cement NewsAnhui Conch has signed a contract worth CNY78.38m (US$12.38m) with its sister company, Conch Design, for the provision of engineering services to what the company describes as “certain projects”. The contract reportedly covers services such as engineering design and/or technical upgrading, including clinker production lines, cement grinding mills, aggregate, commercial concrete and residue heat electricity generation projects. China Tianrui records revenue increase for 201723 March 2018, Published under Cement NewsChina Tianrui Group Cement has announced that its profit attributable to owners rose 238.6 per cent YoY for the full-year 2017 period, increasing to CNY1bn (US$158.47m) from CNY295.8m. Revenue advanced 40.1 per cent on the previous year, reaching CNY8.42bn. Gross profit grew by 58 per cent YoY to CNY2.40bn, while the gross profit margin rose to approximately 28.5 per cent. This has been attributed to a greater increase in cement and clinker prices than in production costs. |

Elsewhere, Liu Yiu Keung has stepped down from his role as chairman of the board and executive director of the company. Li Zhiqiang has also resigned from his position as vice chairman of the board and executive director. Namibia imports 40,000t of Chinese clinker16 February 2018, Published under Cement NewsSome 40,000t of clinker from China was unloaded at Namport, Namibia’s largest port. The clinker will be transported to the new cement plant of Whale Rock/Cheetah Cement, a Chinese-Namibian joint venture, in Otjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa region.
