Domestic dispatches of grey cement in Colombia advanced 4.3 per cent YoY to 1.065Mt in November 2017 from 1.021Mt, according to the latest data from DANE, the country’s statistics office. The Colombian cement market expanded by 5.2 per cent to 1.083Mt  in October 2018 when compared with 0.949Mt in October 2017, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. Cement dispatches in September 2018 increased by 0.8 per cent YoY to 1.031Mt from 1.023Mt, according to DANE, the country’s statistics office. Demand growth was led by Córdoba, where it rose by 18.3 per cent YoY, followed by Meta (+16.1 per cent) and Nariño (+12.8 per cent). Cementos Argos revenues edged up 1.1 per cent to COP2218bn (US$692.6m) in the third quarter of 2018 from COP2194bn in the 3Q17. Cementos Argos announced it was awarded Energy Star certification by the US Environment Protection Agency for the third-consecutive year. Colombian cement producers dispatched 990,012t of cement in July 2018, representing a 4.9 per cent YoY fall, according to the latest data from the country’s statistics office, DANE. Cementos Argos released its 2Q18 results this week with revenues up by 1.4 per cent at COP2.184trn (US$726bn) from COP2.154trn in 2Q17. The 1H18 revenue amounted to COP4.092trn, down from COP4.231trn in 1H17, a fall of 3.3 per cent. EBITDA and net income were affected by the US$24m fine imposed by the Superintendence and Commerce in Colombia. 2Q18 EBITDA amounted to COP328bn, down 11.2 per cent on the COP370bn of 2Q17.
