Grey cement consumption in Colombia in August 2017 reached 1.033Mt, down 5.2 per cent when compared with August 2016, according to the national statistics office, DANE. Some 68 per cent of volumes, or 702,300t, were delivered in bagged form. The country's cement producers manufactured 1.035Mt of cement in August 2017, which represents a 8.5 per cent YoY decrease. Cemex announced that it has received de Sello Verde de Verdad (True Green Label), granted by Colombian company Ecologic SAS, and the certification of neutralisation of transport-related GHG emissions in Colombia, issued by the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards and Certification (ICONTEC Internacional). Colombia cement dispatches rise 13% YoY in July

In July some 1.041Mt of grey cement were dispatched in Colombia, an increase of 12.6 per cent YoY, according DANE, the country’s statistics institute. Market expansion was the largest in Nariño where cement dispatches rose by 91.4 per cent YoY, with Caldas and Boyacá also noting considerable increases of 57.6 to 49.9 per cent, respectively. Grupo Argos has sold its 50 per cent stake in a port operator to an investment fund managed by Goldman Sachs for about US$136m, Grupo Argos said in a statement on Monday. Compania de Puertos Asociados SA, called Compas, moves principally coal and cement through its ports in the Andean country. Cementos Argos announced a net income of COP48bn (US$16m) for the second quarter of 2017 as the US and central America/Caribbean helped to mitigate challenging dynamics in its home market of Colombia.  Revenues were down by 1.6 per cent YoY and EBITDA fell by 15.9 per cent YoY to COP367bn. Colombia sees grey cement sales slip

Colombia’s cement sales slipped 1.3 per cent YoY to 0.984Mt in June 2017 when compared with the previous year, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE.  Ready-mix company offtake fell by 9.3 per cent and could not be offset by sales in the prefabricated segment, where sales increased 24.1 per cent and the building companies and contractors, which increased purchases by 1.9 per cent. Cement output in the country reached 1.003Mt, 0.9 per cent lower than in 6M16.

Colombian grey cement deliveries slipped 0.6 per cent YoY to 0.999Mt in May 2017, according to DANE, the country’s statistics office. Satarem supplies drying system to Cementos Tequendama

Satarem has a supplied a complete drying system to Colombian cement producer Cementos Tequendama. The system consists of a three-sleeve dryer (φ3.6 × 8m) with a capacity of 50tph and the ability to reduce the moisture of pozzolan from 15 to one per cent.
