Colombian cement consumption rises 8.6% YoY in August

Colombia’s cement market expanded by 8.6 per cent YoY in August to 1.108Mt on the back of increased demand from construction companies and contractors (+21.4 per cent) and ready-mix firms (+9.7 per cent) which accounted for 6.3 percentage points of the increase, according to national statistics office DANE. Growth in Colombian cement demand continues as dispatches increased 8.8 per cent YoY to 1.152Mt, according to DANE, the country's statistics office. Key markets were Antioquia (15 per cent of total demand), Bogota (13.4 per cent) and Cundinamarca (9.2 per cent). Output edged up 3.1 per cent to 1.111Mt. Cement dispatches in Colombia increased 2.7 per cent YoY to 1.062Mt, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. The increase is primarily the result of an 8.7 per cent rise in the construction and contractors segment, which expanded by 8.7 per cent. Colombia: Feb cement sales up 6.1%

Colombia saw a 6.1 per cent YoY rise in cement dispatches in February as 985,300t of the product were delivered, according to DANE, the national statistics office. The largest increases were experienced in Nariño (+52.1 per cent), Bolívar (+37 per cent), Antioquia (+17 per cent) and Bogotá (7.7 per cent). The Colombian cement market expanded by 14.5 per cent YoY in January 2015 as the country’s cement producer dispatched 927,800t of cement, according to the latest figures by national statistics office, Dane. Output rose 8.3 per cent to 0.9Mt when compared with January 2014. The strongest demand growth occurred in Nariño (+165 per cent), Cesar (+37 per cent), Magdalena (+36 per cent),  while Antioquia and Bolivar saw dispatches rise by 25 per cent.

Cement dispatches in Colombia saw a 5.5 per cent YoY expansion to 1.09Mt in October 2014, according to the latest data published by Dane, the country’s statistics office. Colombian cement consumption increased 8.1 per cent to 1.059Mt in July 2014 when compared with the same month a year ago, according to the country's statistics office, Dane. The rise has been attributed to a stronger demand from retail outlets and concrete companies.
