Christopher Ashworth has been appointed the new president of FLSmidth Cement . He succeeds Asger Lauritsen who stepped down from the role in August this year. FLSmidth has reported revenue of DKK12,415m (US$1822m) in the first half of 2023, compared to DKK9733m in the same period a year earlier. EBITDA fell from DKK770m in the 1H22 to DKK737m in the 1H23, while profit over the same timeframe declined from DKK257m to DKK202m. FLSmidth has reported group revenue of DKK6016m (US$886.6m) in the first quarter of 2023, up 27.8 per cent from the DKK4706m recorded in the 1Q22. Cementir Holding posted broadly stable sales of EUR454.5m in the second quarter of 2023. Growth in Turkey, Asia-Pacific and Egypt was able to partially offset a decrease in revenues in the Nordic and Baltic area, Belgium and the USA. Aalborg Portland and Fidelis New Energy have signed a letter of intent enabling the cement producer to potentially supply more than 400,000t of CO 2 to the Norne Carbon Storage Hub in Aalborg through a direct pipeline connection by 2030.
