FLSmidth sees 5% rise in order intake in 2021

FLSmidth reported a five per cent increase in order intake in 2021 as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic waned and project sites became more accessible. Including currency effects the intake was up by four per cent to DKK19,233m (US$2941m) with mining and cement contributing equally to the growth. FLSmidth updates financial guidance for 4Q21 and 2021 performance

FLSmidth updated its preliminary full year 2021 revenue guidance replacing its financial guidance provided on 11 November 2021. This improvement was primarily driven by the Capital business in the 4Q21.   Revenue is now estimated at DKK5.1bn (US$763.6m) in the 4Q21 and DKK17.6bn (US$2.63bn) for the full year compared to DKK16-17bn previously forecast. Van Aalst Bulk Handling lands silo and truck loading order

Van Aalst Bulk Handling BV recently conducted a first commissioning session for cement storage silos and a truck loading equipment project in Aarhus, Denmark. The silo floor includes an embedded floor aeration system and the reclaim equipment is installed to transport cement to the truck loading station. The Van Aalst ship unloader has already been moved to the new terminal and will start soon to unload cement bulk ships into the new silos.

FLSmidth has reported a 22 per cent YoY increase in revenue to DKK4660m (US$718.8m) in the third quarter of 2021, compared to DKK3834m in the 3Q20. EBITA advanced 72 per cent to DKK305m from DKK177m, while EBITA margin reached 6.5 per cent from 4.6 per cent. Cementir Group, through its subsidiary Aalborg Portland, aims to become the first global cement producer to capture, transport and store CO 2 underground. Aalborg Portland reports sluggish Futurecem sales

Sales of its lower-carbon cement, Futurecem, have not reached the projected volumes of 40,000tpa, 18 months after its market launch, according to Denmark-based Aalborg Portland. To date sales of 2000t have been reported. FLSmidth reports 2Q21 strong order intake and improved profitability

FLSmidth’s order intake in the 2Q21 increased 42 per cent compared to the 2Q20 and by 38 per cent to DKK4615m (US$97m) YoY.
