GCC reports record 4Q19 US net sales

Grupo de Cemento de Chihuahua (GCC), the Mexican cement producer that serves cement and concrete markets in USA, Mexico and Canada had 4Q19 consolidated net sales increased 11 per cent to US$228.6m, while EBITDA increased by 49.6 per cent to US$86.4m in 4Q19. Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua joins SBTi

Mexico's Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) has announced that it has joined the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as part of its commitment to set science-based emission reduction targets, according to a press release. "By joining the SBTi, GCC will ensure that the company's low-carbon transformation is aligned with climate science and is a further reflection of our unwavering commitment to implement global best practices related to sustainability," said Enrique Escalante, CEO of GCC.

GCC signs 15-year solar power deal in Mexico

Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua SAB de CV is to operate some of its cement operations in Mexico on solar energy under a newly-signed power purchase agreement (PPA). The company said it signed a 15-year off-take deal with a Mexican solar power supplier for electricity for its cement factory in Juarez, ready-mix and aggregates operations and corporate offices. Mexico's Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) has recorded an 8.3 per cent YoY rise in consolidated net sales to US$301.7m for the third quarter of 2019, on the back of improved cement volumes and prices in Mexico and the USA. GCC signs agreement for clean energy supply

Mexico’s Grupo Cementos Chihuahua (GCC) has signed an agreement with a US-based clean energy provider for the supply of solar and wind energy to its cement plant in Odessa, Texas, to fulfil 100 per cent of the facility’s electricity requirement. Mexico's Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) has announced a 1.3 per cent YoY increase in sales to US$403.9m for the first six months of 2019, against US$398.8m in the year-ago period. The Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) Pueblo cement plant is Colorado's only Energy Star certified manufacturing plant having been given the award by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in recognition of its superior energy performance. GCC looking for additional US assets

Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) is exploring options for mergers and acquisitions in different markets, particularly the USA, according to CE Noticias Financieras. "In terms of growth in the US we are actively seeking expansions, mergers and acquisitions and that does not necessarily exclude completely that we could not expand through special capex," said GCC Director Enrique Escalante. Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) reports that its 1H18 sales increased 11.4 per cent to US398.8m, generating US$115m in EBITDA, up 22 per cent YoY.
