The 2400tpd Duna Drava Cement clinker line in Vác, Hungary, has been successfully re-commissioned and put into production in April 2018. Duna-Dráva Cement completes plant renovation

Duna-Dráva Cement Kft has announced that a HUF7bn (US$26.12m) project to improve sustainability at its facility in Vác, Hungary, has been completed. Construction work took place between 2016-18, with the newly-renovated plant inaugurated on 18 May. The project has been successful in significantly reducing dust emissions, according to the Budapest Business Journal. A new filter system ensures that dust is contained, even in a malfunction or power outage.

LafargeHolcim’s Kiralyegyhaza cement plant in Hungary has received the World Prix d’Excellence 2017 from the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI). Cemex announced yesterday that it has closed the sale of operations in Austria and Hungary to the Rohrdorfer Group for approximately EUR160.1m. The transaction was originally announced on 12 August 2015. Cemex announced today that it has signed an agreement for the sale of its operations in Austria and Hungary to the Rohrdorfer Group for approximately EUR160.1m. Hungary: Magyarország plant invests in alternative fuels storage facility

Lafarge Cement Magyarország opened a storage facility for waste that will be used to help fuel its plant in Királyegyháza, southwestern Hungary. The project, involving an investment of HUF700m (EUR2.2m), will be used to store plastic, rubber and  industrial and farm byproducts. Lafarge Cement Magyarország employs 130 people, and reported revenues of HUF8.3bn last year.

Hungarian cement producer Hejocsabai Cement es Meszmu (HCM) will need government support to restart cement production at its Miskolc works, according to the company's managing director, Janos Kalman. Eight ready-mixed concrete companies and the Hungarian Concrete Association were fined a total HUF2.79bn (EUR9m) for setting prices and colluding on market share by the country’s competition office, the Gazdasági Versenyhivatal (GVH). The GVH said the cartel activity took place between 2005 and 2007 and cited the fact that meetings were held in high secrecy as an aggravating factor.
